What will the members here be doing for the 2007 election?

Will you be out canvassing and leafletting? Are any of you candidates in either council or parliament elections? Are you awaiting to hear whether you will be candidates? Is anyone an election agent? What role will you play for your party in the election? Please say what party you are a member of.

If not a party member how will you vote?

I'll be out canvassing a leafletting for the SNP. I'll most likely vote SNP 1st and 2nd vote as well. One of my pals might be standing (not for the SNP) so that might create a slight conflict.

Probably be out canvassing for the SNP in my local constituency if they get their act together. Kilmarnock and Loudon (if it's still called that!) is a winnable seat for the SNP so every person could make a difference to the outcome of the election. Prob be voting SNP 1st vote and SSP 2nd vote.

I'll probably be out delivering SNP leaflets as usual...... not that it will make any difference, the Labour party could get Bin Laden elected here, it's so safe !

I live in one of the safest Labour Westminster seats in Britain, Coatbridge & Langloan, or whatever it is called.

Will not be doing anything for any party during the election. A Communist-Anarchist does not believe in party structure!!

However, I will be voting. First vote will go to SNP, because they will be best placed to beat Labour. Then the list vote will go to SSP. hopefully to return Caroline Leckie.

Possibly yours, Rinty.
I don't know, with all the boundry changes for Westminster and the Scottish Parliament constituencies, i'm not sure if Cumnock is still in the old Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley constituency !

Cumnock is part of Carrick Cumnock and Doon Valley (obviously - hence the constituency name) The Westminster seat is the new boundary which takes in Cumnock and all of Ayr rather than just Carrick, The Holyrood seat is the old one (well, oldish).

Cathy Jamieson is a definite in the seat, the SNP fell well away last time behind the tories and there is no chance of anyone else winning it apart from Labour. I can confirm howver that it will be very unlikely that the SSP will stand in the seat. Even if all the SSP voters changed to SNP for the FPTP seat it wouldnt make a dent in Labours majority.

I'll be organising our campaign in the constituency, I've been nominated for more than one seat and a couple of council wrds and our regional list. I wont stand FPTP and probably not on the list either. I will stand in my home council ward if selected but not in another ward.

I'll be voting SNP if Adam Imgram is the candidate again. If it is not Adam I will weigh up my options when I see the candidates. Of course my regional vote will go to the SSP as well as my council vote.

I'm on the border of two wards SLG and I stood as candidate in 2003. In the neighbouring ward we have a much stronger vote but stood down in favour of the SNP councillor who we had been campagning with locally on some issues. It didnt work, she lost.

Next time though it will be a "super" ward with 4 old wards combined together. Under STV we would have an outside chance of sneaking a councillor. I hope to stand but it will depend on the branch decision.

I got 10% last time round but I know I would poll much higher in the neighbouring ward.

I suppose a lot of it will come down to how people use their stv (e.g. are folk likely to only vote for one candidate from their preferred party) and how well you can get your name know across the much larger multi-member wards. I would think the SSP would get a lot of Labour and SNP 2nd preferences though, so you may be in with a good shout.
