On the lighter side of culloden.

I heard a comedian doing this thing about when Cumberland the Jackass and his redcoats were chasing the Jacobites across country. Well they stopped in at a local chip shop where the chippie was a pakastani/scot with a mixed accent. Cumberland went in to ask directions, any information he could get, plus he ordered fish dinners for every one! : 1000's!!

You should have heard the chippie! Shocked

Hate tae talk tae mysel', anyway does onywan know tha' the Jacobites who were rounded up on tha' day,wel those who were no' kelt'. were sold an' shipped tae Barbados as slaves??

Yes I knew it. Not only Barbados though. They were deported to the colonies as well, America, the west-Indies, etc. In a later stage, whole villages got deported. When I read about it, makes me sick to the stomach. Many many people died on the way Crying or Very sad
