HOW DO I JOIN ?

Anyone registered to the forum can participate. Just post your predictions in the respective thread and your'e there !

WHAT'S THE PRIZE ?

The chance to boast down the pub/embroidery class of being the undisputed top tipster in cyber world - the hundreds of similar online competitions notwithstanding.

HOW DO I SCORE POINTS ?

The competition is based on the SPL, and its six weekly fixtures. 3 points will be awarded for a correct-score and 1 point for predicting the correct trend. A maximum therefore of 18 points is possible for any one weeks predictions.

WHERE AND WHEN DO I POST ?

Predictions are requested before Friday midnight on the respective weeks predictions thread, thereafter it will be locked by your moderator anytime between the deadline and the first kick-off(s). If it is locked, and if your moderator allows, late predictions can be accepted via e-mail or a PM before the first weekend kick-off. Alternatively, you can always post your predictions on the league table thread.

Late entries posted after kick-off can still be accepted but only for those individual fixtures still not yet kicked-off eg. the Sunday or Monday fixture.* Please always check for local kick-off times

3rd Party predictions cannot be accepted !

Sorry, but under no circumstances can predictions be accepted for posts submitted AFTER kick-off, either via e-mail or PM. (*see exception above)

I'M GOING ON HOLIDAY FOR 3 WEEKS !

No problem. Either post your predictions for the week(s) you will be away on the current predictions thread, or contact the moderator.

HOW CAN I CHART MY PROGRESS ?

After each weeks fixtures have been finalised, league tables (eg. your ‘home’ forums individual league table and an inter-forum league table featuring all the ‘home’ league tables combined), will be posted by your moderator.

MY SCORE IS WRONG !

Contact your moderator, who will check your predictions and adjust your points tally accordingly.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF A TIE ?

Ties in the league table will be decided thus - highest average-score, most correct-scores, alphabetically. In the case of a dead-heat at the end of the season with two or more players tied on points, average-score and corrcet-score, a play-off (in a form yet to be decided) will replace the alphabeticals, to find a clear winner.

POSTPONED FIXTURES !

Original predictions for postponed fixtures will be kept and still be valid for when the fixture is re-arranged, which will then be added to your total after they have been played. In the case of any subsequent prediction(s) for the same fixture(s), this will nullify your original prediction(s), and your weekly score will reflect your last posted prediction(s).

CAN I PARTICIPATE ON MORE THAN ONE FORUM/LEAGUE ?

No. While this will be difficult to avoid or in any way control, in the interest of fair-play, it is hoped that we can count on participants’ honesty. Anyone found with the same IP address in competing leagues will be tarred and feathered and banished to the BBC’s Religious Board.

CAN I CHANGE FORUMS/LEAGUES MID-SEASON AND RETAIN MY POINTS ?

In the interests of fair-play, as a general rule, no.

I’VE HAD ENOUGH !

In the highly unlikely event you no longer wish to participate, after 3 weeks of non-participation, your name/moniker will automatically be removed from the league table. Should you wish to resume at a later date your total score will be retained, and your name/moniker, re-instated.
