This is really stooping low and a sign of the Labour Party's total desperation to hang on to Glasgow East.

How could they possibly have imagined that they could ever get away with this? Even if there were no pictures taken his relatives and neighbours would know the score and set things straight given the level of publicity. Breathtaking stupidity. _________________ No more boom and bust - Gordon Brown
Is it possible just possible that it was a genuine mistake? I'm struggling to believe they could have been that stupid _________________ Taurus excreta cerebrum vincit - Bullshit baffles brains
It's breathtaking but the picture has the labour activist with a war medal so it looks like they did try to fake it.
You wouldnt think that they would be so stupid to leak scrapping incapacity benefit during this bylecetion campaign, or brown to call on the porr to stop throwing away food as he sat down to 12 course dinner at the G8. Or for Curran to say she lives in the east end when se doesnt.
Perhaps someone in the camp is deliberately f***ing it up for them?
It's breathtaking but the picture has the labour activist with a war medal so it looks like they did try to fake it.
The medal in question is the MBE. If he were a genuine War hero like my late father, then he would have had a group of at least six campaign medals including the Africa Star with the Alamein bar. I think this was a very amateurish attempt to deceive the voters.

Much as it pains me, this was a c**k up.
Curran did meet the war hero - and she also met the guy with the mbe.
Some idiot in her campaign screwed up. It's not all swords at dawn out here, we had a laugh about it in the pub.
Rinty, how could you mistake that for a war medal?
That was you blithely stating something as fact when it wasn't.
I dont know what a war medal looks like, Didnt know she posed with an MBE with the other guy. I make no apologies for not instantly recognising what certain medals look like, and the difference between them. To be honest I didnt pay that much attention to this story. I have no experience in either war medals or MBEs
I think your assessment of it seems about right in that case Amber. Probably a mistake.
I expect there is another leaflet with the details of the MBE guy next to either his own picture again or the war hero?
yet you stated as fact that she was posing with a guy holding a war medal.
Don't you care for factual accuracy, Rinty?
Amber a straight forward mistake by Rinty and he has pointed out he has no experience in either war medals or MBEs and neither have I, and do not care for medals or pedantic individuals also.
Also if you are still posting stories on Solidarity or Tommy can I ask you why we are a worry to the SNP campaign and you still prefer attempts to belittle us?
And where do get your stories? In the pub or are you Daily Gossip on this forum? _________________ The legacy of a New Labour Government that had presided over two illegal wars, the largest ever gap between rich and poor, and fascists elected to the European Parliament.

Amber continues her personal obsession with Tommy Sheridan and anybody connected to him by saying "you stated as fact that she was posing with a guy holding a war medal. Don't you care for factual accuracy, Rinty?"
Just as a matter of interest, Amber, is the Labour Party actually paying you for your services to them, or are you giving your services to the Labour Party free of charge?
This thread was about a gross misrepresentation by the Labour Party. The Labour Party put out a leaflet about a 93 year old war hero supposedly endorsing their candidate in the Glasgow East by-election. Yet the guy in the accompanying photo, displaying some sort of dodgy medal, was in fact a Labour Party member the same age as myself. What could possibly take the focus off this gross misrepresentation by the Labour Party? Why, Amber and her obsession with Solidarity, of course. Sighs of relief from Labour Party.
"yet you stated as fact that she was posing with a guy holding a war medal.
Don't you care for factual accuracy, Rinty?"
calm down amber, I wrongly stated in a web forum where we discuss issues in a friendly manner without the usual sectarian bile, that It was a war medal. It was a mistake, you dont need to turn it into court case.
When you pointed out my mistake I agreed and thought that your interpretation of events was probably right, yet you continue this personal hostility.
I am used to it though, no matter what pseudonym you use at the time.
"Margaret Curran needs to decide – does she want to be an MP for Glasgow East or an MSP. Before anyone even considers voting Labour they should think very carefully, do they want a full time representative arguing for lower fuel and energy costs or a part-timer sitting quietly on Gordon Brown’s backbenches."
...John Mason, missing a rather obvious irony. _________________ A very merry Christmas to one and all.
Well, as we enter the last few days of the campaign I think that the spoils go to the SNP, a Phyrric victory is all that remains for Labour.
Interesting that despite criticising Salmond who stood for Holyrood whilst still an MP that Curran has now decided to do the same, I suppose that particular line of attack is now redundant.
Is Glasgow East more in need of a full time MP than Banff and Buchan? perhaps it is.
One thing though, Margaret Curran would probably be wise to at least follow Salmonds example and explain when she will step down as an MSP should she win.
Salmond let the voters of Banff and Buchan know exactly what they were getting, Curran has been less open with the electorate of Glasgow East.
One last point, users of The Herald forums have been ignoring abusive Unionist posters these last couple of days. The comments have, as a result, been easier to follow and read.
The amount of abuse that Unionist posters has increased dramatically this last few weeks, the tactic of ignoring them has highlighted the fact that the abuse is almost all from the Unionist side.
A good week beckons ............. come what may !!!
