I was reading the Scotsman newspaper and came across this topic about the Guyana elections personally I hope that Bharrat Jagdeo regains his seat they have so much potential there. they have a policy that treats foreign investors the same as locals.Plus they have put aside a HUGH tract of Rainforest that is proctected,in fact one of the only ! They were hoping for scientist to take advantage of this.
For anyone and I don't mean if you go and stay in a Tourist resort! your stay in a jungle lodge is about $80.00 per night and to get there you will have to fly from Ogle airport, which is the "Pray N' go aircraft! The cost was about $100.00 US. however, if you are very adventerous, there are coaches for 600.00 Guyanese dollars that will take you from Georgetown to Lathem on the Brazillian border. From there you can reach the lodges but I was assured by someone who was a sole trader and travelled all aound there,a Guyanese, that and forgive this but the jungle journey caused them to pass blood out the south end due to the rough and 12 hr journey and NO toilet!!Food or anything.
I have been there a few times and call it the wild west, but would go back again no problem!
