Well, it's reaching the business end of the qualifying campaign and Macedonia are up next. Burley has made a good move by calling up David Weir and Kevin Kyle. I think both are good additions to the squad even though Weir is 39.
If, and it is a huge if, Burley starts with a decent team and formation then I think we could win this game. I'd go
Gordon
Alexander McManus Weir Hutton
Brown Hartley Fletcher
McFadden
Kyle Maloney

Defence is a problem. Caldwell is out, and is a liability anyway. Alexander is as lazy as Christian Nade and MacManus is a lottery. Berra maybe? _________________ http://tocasaid.blogspot.com/ |

we will miss caldwell in defence. Weir should partner whichever one of McManus, S Caldwell and Berra is activelt playing games for their side.
Full backs are a no-brainer, Hutton on the right and any one of about 7 left backs in the English championship who are about equal ability.
I would play one up front with McFadden and Maloney pushing on from wide areas. Miller doesnt deserve to be dropped and there are no outstanding displays from anyone else that forces him out either. My team for the match would be:
Gordon
Hutton Weir McManus Mcallister
McFadden Brown Thomson Fletcher Maloney
Miller
For the Holland game I would bring back Gary Caldwell and keep Weir in place. |

Gary O'Connor has been called up as cover for injured Kevin Kyle. Think he would do a decent job up front for Scotland.
Steven Caldwell will miss both games through injury.

Difficult game for us, We've looked nothing like the side from a few years back, but we still have a wee chance of making the Playoffs.
Macedonia will be buzzing and I expect them to come out flying at Hampden, They are second in the group and from the interviews, they seem really up for it, but so do our boys. I think it'll be an open-game.
The fans need to really give it their all too, get the roar going and spur on the team!
I can see us winning this, similar to the Ukraine game a few years back at Hamdpen, starting really well and mayeb even going in 2-0 up at half-time, Optimistic indeed
If we can get past Macedonia, it sets up 'The Final' against Holland. It's going to be a really difficult game. They'll want a 8wins from 8games record and there is no way that they are going to take the game against us easy. I think we'll draw , most certainly missing the Playoffs.
It's a bit of a pity, as although the group is not as easy as some have said. It is certainly a group where we could have made the Playoffs from.
Saying all that, If Burley gets us the two wins. A few other teams cut their throats and we make the Playoffs, and qualify. He'll surely be our most succesful manager in 11 years since Broon!
Who'd have thought that? haha |

Great result for Scotland today. We rode our luck at times, but I think we were due a bit of luck in this campaign.
Onwards to Wednesday and the small matter of the Dutch. And we will be without McFadden. He was booked today for something that I am still none the wiser. _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |

First half was disappointing, and we looked nervous and poor, but what a second half! That was some of the best football I've seen Scotland play, Look comfortable, good on the ball, skillful and threatning going forward!
Dunno what Burley said at HT. I can't imagine him revving the troops up though, maybe he gave them a few nips or something!
Well done again to the fans, who were awesome from the sound of it.
Now on to Hollland. Still, might tough to get a Playoff, but when there is optimism, there is hope!! we can do it..
If we do,
It'll be on to watching the results come in, and hoping we've got enough pts for a playoff as our goal difference is -2, I think.
Have we turned the Corner,.
Well done to GB too, he's took a lot of flack in the Press and seems a really nice man. I want it to work for him, he looked so proud last night and his dance when he scored, just showed how patriotic and commited he is to the job. Well done to him for changing the tactics, and realising that the formation at the start did not work.
MONA SCOTLAND!!!
