I'm sure most of us are familiar with the tale that the "Tory" nickname earned by the various parties over the years and now, of course, the preserve of the Conservative & Unionist Party, came from an Irish word for "bandit".
I was wondering if this (or indeed "Toridh" - from my hugely limited understanding of Gaelic spelling) translates into modern Scots Gaelic in any meaningful way.
