It is that time of year again when the BBC build up any British player, saying that this is going to be the year that they win the tournament.
But this really could be the year Murray does it. He is currently in the final of the event at Queens and is on course to be the first ever British player to win it.
At Wimbledon, he has got all the skills needed to beat either Federer, Nadal or Djorkovic. But can he keep it going over the two weeks. Not long until we find out.

Murray has just won that event at the Queen's Club. It was the first British winner in 71 years, not ever as I previously said.
He has played immense tennis all week, not dropping a set.
On to Wimbledon...... _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |

Nadal has withdrawn, so Murray is now effectively second seed.
He is playing world number 76 Robert Kendrick first up. _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |

Murray has safely negotiated the first two rounds getting steadily better.

As Tim Henman put it, "Murray didn't charge for it, but he gave Troicki a tennis lesson today."
Quality stuff.
Up next it's Stanislas Wawrinka on Monday. _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |

Pppphhhhhhheeeeeeewwwwwww
Murray got blown off the court in the first set tonight, but managed to come back to lead 2-1. But back came Wawrinka to level it up at 2-2.
Murray was visibly tired, but managed to take the final set to win the match in a fraction under four hours.
Just hope he manages to recover in time for his quarter final against Juan Carlos Ferrero on Wednesday. _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |

No bad thing that he had a five setter but, as you say, let's hope he recovers in time. _________________ Visit Scotsgait then follow us on Twitter !! |

Well Murray blew Ferrero off court yesterday and now faces Roddick second up tomorrow for a place in the final.
This will probably be his toughest challenge yet, but he has got something like a 6-2 record over Roddick.

Ah well, it wasn't to be this year.
Murray didn't play all that well, but Roddick was immense. Well deserved win in the end.
Federer to break Sampras' record now? _________________ Visit the Our Scotland Blog at http://our-scotland.blogspot.com/ |
