Alright lads and lasses.

In light of recent threads and comments, it is time for a review of the forum rules, which are here.

At ‘Our Scotland’, we encourage open debate and try to keep moderation to an absolute minimum. However, lately threads have gone off track and descended into petty drivel and name calling.

Therefore from now on, please keep the forum rules in mind when you are posting, in particular:

“….please be aware that the Our Scotland community is a diverse one, and as a result posters should take care in their choice of words not to cause offence. Posts containing racist, sectarian, sexist and homophobic abuse will not be tolerated and all complaints will be investigated. Posters have a responsibility to themselves to show respect to other forum users in their contributions.

In the spirit of free speech, moderators will show sufficient leniency to allow posters to resolve any matters that arise on their own. However, persistent abuse of this leniency or a refusal to settle any issue in a mature and respectful way will result in action being taken. “

This is a line being drawn in the sand. From now on, anyone not abiding by the rules will be warned.

Come on guys. This board has been on the go for 4 years now and over that time we have had quality debate. Let’s keep it that way.
