And while we're at it, lets kill the "mad scientist" cliche:

And the femme fatale? the black drug dealer? The single parent as a waitress? The hero soldier? The black man who doesnt see his kids? The niaive liberal?
Personally I think the guys article is nonsense. The stereotypes he mentions dont happen that often in movies and he seems to be referring to pretty old movies and using selective evidence.
Stereotypes in movies and one dimensional characters are a very good tool for writers to express an opinion through, they can be very useful, depending on what the intenetion is.
For instance, his first example of the mad vet/soldier is often used as an allegory for violence in general having many side effects that lead to a violent society.
But, in reality the image of soldiers is far more often one of a principled man suffereing for a cause and/or a flag, rather than the mad guy, which is rare and sometimes poignant.

You must get a wider selection of channels than I do. I'm surprised that sort of thing is allowed in Crieff.

Didn't you see Rome? Very good series even without the excess of naked bodies.

Wrong nationality, and wrong political views sunshine, I guess you have a prejudice for Americans do you? Is there one under every rock in your world? Maybe we need to add another cliche to the list. EU wannabes that slams Americans every chance they get to hide their own failings?
When my ancestors came down with the the Bonnie Prince Charlie in their baby blues killing Englishmen I'm sure your kin were undermining their efforts too. My kin called for an end of the march when the French failed to come through with their promises once again. If they would have kept their word then the march would have continued to London and Scottish independence wouldn't have taken so long.
With no honour and no kin that fought for Scotland (I think you said you are Greek agentmancuso) and likely with no kin that fought in the Great Wars, what qualifies you to be a EU wannbe using your dirk from the back of one of maw's ming kilt with a greet.

I was only making a suggestion for your pretty little list. But if the hat fits...
| Quote: | | When my ancestors came down with the the Bonnie Prince Charlie in their baby blues killing Englishmen I'm sure your kin were undermining their efforts too. |
That's an oddly structured sentence, besides being historically illiterate. The army of Charles III killed very few Englishmen. The vast majority of the dead on either side of that conflict were Scots.
Would anyone of intelligence be impressed that your ancestors fought with (or against) Charlie? I doubt it. Does it make you feel strangely viril to be (supposedly) related to somebody who might have killed some people?
I don't think any of my ancestors were involved either way; too busy scrapping a living out of the Irish bog.

Greek? Nope, I'm from Paisley myself. My grandfather, an Ulsterman, was invalided out of the British Army twice during the Great War, and was picking shrapnel out of his face till his dying day. So what? I'm not sure what the last sentence says, as it appears not to be in English at all.
It is, I suppose, refreshing to see you can venture beyond the half-witted obsession with nasty women.
