A Mebyon Kernow BroadcastMebyon Kernow - the Party for Cornwall has just produced its first-ever party political broadcast.
I am afraid that you will not see it on the television because, in order to qualify for air-time, MK would need to stand in nine regions in the European Parliamentary Elections. The broadcast can be viewed online at: A Party Political Broadcast by Mebyon Kernow
I think it will destroy a few preconceptions you may hold about MK and Cornish nationalism. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Well, first before I speak. Good luck with their goals, always had a soft spot for Cornwall.
Now, it's just an opinion but... oh dear... it's lifeless.
Sorry...
I saw the interviews and saw a bunch of nice people but little by the way of drive.
I think more energetic performances, less people standing about inanimately and get the girl off the bike (clearly a green) was very pleasant but dissolves their message into a green "the environment is your friend" thingy ; lacked any passion to convince me.
I am not talking about charisma (overrated quality usually abundant in the worst of c***s) but I think lose two minutes and do all they did but in 3 minutes. Get them speaking like they've got a gripe and a pair (especially the women). Show examples of Cornish deprivation/problems - DON'T just talk about them.
Positively, it's okay, they'll win the grannie vote... maybe. They didn't convince and they didn't persuade (well maybe they persuaded some people).
I did like the scenes of Cornwall though but this isn't a tourist video.
Didn't want my post about the Cornish TV spot to be so unhappy... sorry.
Can't they get the SNP to help them?

However....... | Bravehand wrote: | | Can't they get the SNP to help them? | What individual members of the SNP do is up to them, but it would be extremely unwise of the SNP as an organisation to give any kind of official help to Mebyon Kernow. The aim of the SNP is independence for Scotland. That does NOT mean it is automatically in favour of independence, or even home rule, for the Confederate States of America, or for Chechnya, or for the Sri Lankan Tamils, or for the Basque Country, or for the Languedoc, or for Quebec, or for Cornwall, or for anywhere else. The SNP is aiming at what is left of the UK being another country. Actively supporting Cornish autonomy could be portrayed as interfering in the affairs of another country.

Good point.
Still, they need to do something.

Thanks for the responses. For those who suggested the SNP help MK, don't forget that both parties are members of the European Free Alliance and so have some limited contact here. Also there are many other organisations that work with the issues of stateless nations and minority languages where Scottish citizens can lend Kernow a hand, the Celtic League and Celtic Congress for example.
As for the vid. I hear what you are saying but don't forget that Cornwall is not Scotland or even Wales. We have a much larger percentage of Brits (mostly English) than your country and so any party that wants to make progress has to ensure they don't frighten off well meaning non Cornish citizens.
We have to appeal to ALL who love Kernow and wish to see it prosper.

Dear Cornubial one, if you read what I said that's exactly in line with what you are saying about the number of English people in your land.
Actually, no it's not... I answered you on the other site saying that.
Anyway, your potential voters will vote for you if they think you will fight for their interests. At the moment it looks as if you are concerned but you need to look like your very existence is to look out for their interests.
I don't get that feeling yet. But you might want to consider that the people of Scotland, whether natural SNP voters or not do believe that the SNP will kick ass in their favour.
I think intelligent drive with a smile would be your best foot forward.
Best of luck.

I see that MK have beaten Labour into sixth place in Cornwall, and that the new UA has no Labour councillors.
Congratulations on that, and on the three MK councillors elected.
