Baroness Ray MichieJust read in the Oban Times that the Baroness Ray Michie has died. She was the former Lib Dem MP for Argyll and Bute and was a strong supporter of Scottish Home Rule and promotion of the Gaelic Language. She was the first peer to take her oath in Gaelic.
Her funeral was held in Oban on Saturday at the Parish Church. People such as Menzies Campbell and Charles Kennedy attended to pay their respects.
Fair play to her, regardless of Party Politics, by her actions Mrs Michie showed herself to be a woman of principle of key issues.
