BBC History of Scotland

It can sometimes be difficult to decide which section a topic should come under. A television programme can be part of "Scottish Life and Society", and it can also be relevant to "Scottish Politics and Indepndence". But I reckon the best place to discuss a series about Scottish History is under the History section. It's true there is already a topic on this here, but my wife was reading it and noticed a mistake in the very title of that topic. The presenter of that television series is called Neil Oliver, not Neil Munro. While this may seem like a minor detail to some of us, it is probably quite important to the person most directly concerned. Besides, he, and the BBC, might take the stuffy attitude "Why should we have to accept any criticism of historical inaccuracy from folk who can't even remember a name they were told last night correctly?" Not giving them that facile response to criticism is reason enough to conduct further discussion under the above heading..........

Dave,
There is already a thread on this topic, can you please stick to the one thread which is already there and not spread the same topic  it all over the forum.

I do think it is better to just have one thread. I have given a good, practical reason why it should be this one.

Oh right, the practical reason being that you started it I guess.

You guess wrong.

The practical reason being that Neil Oliver, and actual historians associated with the programme (such as Tom Devine for instance), and the BBC, might think "Why should we pay much, or even any, attention to criticism, on grounds of inaccuracy, from folk who can't even correctly remember a name they were told last night?" (I am assuming that some folk connected with the programme will probably become aware of comments on this forum.)

But since the original topic heading has now been amended, I request that all further discussion should take place under "Neil Oliver's History of Scotland".
