Dinner Party Hostthis down trodden female (BA wishes ) is useless in the kitchen, so no dinner parties at my house
If you were to eat out, whose house would it be and why?
I would like it to be at BA's, as he makes out he's good at everything

I would quite like to have dinner at James Martin's house. For those of you not familiar with James Martin, he is the the TV chef guy who used to be on BBC1 on Saturday mornings.
There are two reasons why I would like to eat at his house.
The first reason is that my wife really likes him and it would absolutely make her day to be in his company.
The second is I want to see if "top chef"s cusine is really that much better than anything I can dish up.

Gino D'Acampo! I love Italian food. And he's a brilliant chef!
I am very good in the kitchen (except for Chili Con Carne ) and I have great dinner parties. But only with people I like. So, that's you lot out then!

Well I like the Bajan way of going to the beach house on the bank holliday weekend where the tables are literally groaning with just about everything.
That apart...........
I'll come to your house carol, you can't be that bad!!
|
Babygael
|
And of course the reason I said i'd go to carols house for dinner, is that I would have anticipated having to pop out to the chippy if things went awry!!
You see I haven't even had a whiff of fish n' chips for something like nine years and I am having a terrible time as a result!

had guests before who my ex had to pop around to the chippy for, their dinner exploded in the pressure cooker then the chippy was literally around the corner, now since I've moved it's 7 miles away

Just back from a few days away. Stayed with my old schoolfreind, di'Quintieri and his family. They are great dinner hosts. No-one is allowed to leave the table without telling at least one fantastic story that never happened to you ... but should have.

if my dreams came true I'd be whisked off by a millionaire Unfortunately I don't know the meaning of luxury being treated like a lady for a day would suit me. (And note BA, not a lady of the night!!!!!!) The nearest I've been to luxury is getting pissed in a limo (free drink) on my eldest daughter's 21st. The next time will be my hen night although I dread what my girls have planned. I've been told I'm going clubbing in Alloa afterwards!!
|
Blackadder

I fear you may have misunderstood them. Clubbed in Alloa has the ring of truth to it. Well, at least the idea has a certain appeal!
|
carol
|
well it's not exactly up market

Blackadder
|
I think you're missing my point!
|
carol

maybe if you presented it better
|
Blackadder
|
Maybe you need to understand the meaning of "clubbed"!!

I was thinking of you more like a baby seal. Soft, white, fat and helpless when the culling begins.

Only in your mind.
Many posters will see it more as a mercy!

Carol, Seven miles to drive to the chippy is a nothing!! I've flown thousands for them!
I too have blown up the slow cooker! The thing is my old Dad was sitting close by and when it hit the roof and all the contents (not forgetting the lid) came back down, well lets just say he wasnae too pleased!!
To this day every time I think of that ,it makes me laff !! So thanks for bringing back the memory. Come to think of it, I laffed then too!!

stew covered the kitchen, it was embarassing moreso because we had guests although funny afterwards

I have been in Romania and on a whim, flown back home because I suddenly wanted a black pudding supper!
At least my backside isn't large enough to have a target painted on it, Carol ... yours is (apparently) well known because it has no parking restrictions!
