Favourite MusicJust thought I'd start a new thread where you can tell everyone what your favoured music pieces are. You don't have to list them all at once, which means you can dip in every so often and post what you like, as well as see what you think of others' tastes. I'll kick the ball off ... (and I don't mind being slated for my musical tastes) ...
First up ... a well-covered classic ... Ruby Tuesday.
I am so in love with this song! It just lifts an average performer into a better bracket because there's not much you can do to ruin it.
I got three versions on my MP3 player. Stones, Melanie and Rod Stewart!

I have just found my Stone Roses CD again and am away to put on Ten Storey Love Song because it is simply awesome.

You can't go wrong with Telstar by The Tornadoes. For some reason, that tune just has a way of brightening my day.

Another of my absolute all time favourites is the entire album Alpha Centauri by Tangerine Dream. I've seen them in concert twice. Just fantastic.
I also love the album Sabbath IV by Black Sabbath. Ozzie Osbourne at his height, before he lost the plot!

My nephew's tutelage in Musical Appreciation grows apace. Tonight he agreed that the best music is the genre "Classical". And I got him into the techno-trance of my youth at last.
Mins you ... he's got me hooked on his thrash metal with the likes of Belphegor.

Waiting in the big long traffic jam tonight, I was listening to Springsteen's - Born To Run and Streets of Philadelphia. Great songs.

Yes ... let the facts speak.
Blackadder ... does not care what anyone else thinks. He is always right!

Slade, Sweet and Showaddywaddy ?? My god .... another one with no musical tastes!
Try some techno, Carol. I recommend the 1812 Overture and O Fortuna for beginners.

not into techno, never heard of it, just listen to whatever CD I can grab and that's not often!! so generally they're oldies

And thereby hangs a tale to be told at some future date no doubt!

I'm listening to Malcom Middleton at the moment.
He used to be in a band from Falkirk, can't remember the name of it at the moment, but I am listening to his solo albulm Into The Woods and it is immense.

Are you perhaps thinking of Arab Strap, RH??
Yeah ... Into The Woods is wicked, innit? I like the Monday Night Nothing track best.
