First Ministers Questions 27/09/07FMQ 27/09/07
Nicole Stephen tries to make political gain from foot and mouth outbreak in England by asking questions of Salmond that he must know by reading the news, is already being dealt with.
http://www.holyrood.tv/popup.asp?...verio.net/archive/FMQs_270907.wmv
Salmond exposes him as a fraud for refusing to assist/interact with Richard Lochhead (Agriculture Minister) in his attempts to remedy the situation.
Alex Salmond at his usual best in attempting to take Scotland forward in a progressive, positive manner.

Salmond is proving fantastic viewing at FM Q's no bluttering and stuttering like our previous FM - another knockout win for Salmond - the moment with Stephen & Salmond going on about Lochheid was brilliant as well,
Good stuff Eck! Keep up the grand work -

He certainly is a good debater and is normally able to sweep the Unionist backbenchers aside - as well as Nicol Stephen and so far Wendy Alexander - she hasn't "wendied" him - yet (!!) Credit to Annabel Goldie, she certainly is far more of an opposition to the First Minister, than the rest of them - and the only one in the Parliament, I'd say, who could even come close to bettering him on occasion.
Also the whole chamber seems much more rowdy these days, with loads of arguments, points of order and barracking that would put Westminster to shame (given that Holyrood has one sixth of the numbers that sit in the House of Commons) But is just so much more interesting with characters like Alex Salmond - and love him or loathe him - George Foulkes. A couple of MSPs have lost their temper in debates, which is something unusual to before. All in all, a much more interesting Parliament.

goldie is asking the best questions and ive said before, like others here, she is doing better at challenging salmond than the other two opposition leaders. however, she is starting to come across as a one-trick pony by only ever asking questions about criminals. maybe its safe territory for her party and her legal background.
i suspect if you did a statistical analysis of her questions they would find the majority on crime and drugs. maybe some on council tax or business rates. ive not watched the most recent one so will be interested to hear what concerned her last week.
