A class act from the FM yet again. The screaming banshee (Wendy Alexander) really must stop giving factually incorrect statements to Parliament otherwise Labour will lose any credibilty they have left - if they have any left!

Wendy Misleads Chamber for Second Time in Three Weeks

Lothians SNP MSP, Shirley-Anne Somerville has commented after the publication of the letter in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre, dated 27 February 2007, from the then Scottish Executive, which proves that Wendy Alexander's claim that Labour were committed to Edinburgh schools investment is wrong.

Ms Somerville said:

"For the second time in three weeks, Wendy Alexander has misled the Chamber during First Minister's Questions. Whether she did so knowingly, or as a result of being badly briefed, it is outrageous either way. First it was the Central Heating Programme, now it is Edinburgh schools.

"She said that that last Executive were committed to an investment programme in Edinburgh schools, and that is patently untrue. The letter from the Scottish Executive dated 27 February said that any such decision can only be taken 'in the context of the next Spending Review'.

"Wendy has apologised to the Labour Party for losing the election. She should now apologise to the Scottish Parliament for misleading it twice in three weeks.

"Rhona Brankin is even quoted in the Evening News today in the full knowledge of the letter – clearly she does not talk to Ms Alexander!"
