Freedom of informationI was just wondering, after independence will the new Scottish government have access to all the secret files and random information that the current UK government and MOD have? I would think all the the information gathered under the name of the UK would be available to the Scottish Government since its obvious it'll automatically be in the hands of the new British state.

I think that would be part of the negotiations. I doubt we would get everything and there would certainly be some sensitive files kept hidden. I think there would be a long line of revelations from individuals involved though.

I would imagine they would still keep all their dossiers on SNP members secret for 50 years or however long they're supposed to be locked away for.

I would think that any info that they don't think would damage a rUK or English government would be made available - so long as we were leaving on good terms. More sensitive material would remain undercouver for some time, but I think there are probably other files that will never see the light of day.
