G E R 's report inaccurate?I really think intelligent folk should continue to keep this allegededly accurate report by some means or other in the public awareness.
There are so many distortions of facts and censorship of others in this report that Labour could not fail to be embarrassed if it continued to be held up to public ridicule by close scrutiny, particularily if Labour and the unionists choose to defend it as gospel truth.
Would the continuing exposure of this cynical, biased report give more credance to the perceived truth that Labour and the unionist establishment have again lied by proxy to the people whom they are supposed to be the servants of? That Labour once again are defending lies and defending facts that have no substance in truth? That the conclusions the report reached do not include all the facts, all the figures that would be required to give it authoritive credance and not the manipulated dross that it it perceived to be?

One of the politicians involved in the inception of GERS actually said that it cannot be used to indicate the economic situation in an independent Scotland. Can't remember who, though.

I don't think it is an appropriate way to measure economic performance to the benefit of any political viewpoint, if anything economic growth figures are best at that.
It simply reveals just how much the present government likes spending.

Let's not forget it isn't only Labour that have used this, the Tories invented it (literally) and carried it on from 1992 and Scotland is the only part of the UK to have its fiscal accounts estimated in this way - not Wales, not Northern Ireland and most certainly not England.

There is an interesting article in today's Guardian.
As one of the regular contributors to " Our Scotland" would say in similar words and which I would totally concur with , " Quite simply, nobody believes New Labour anymore. " Not even New Labour, apparently.
I found the comments section to be an excellent read, better in fact than an @rse licking Brown Jobbie perceived article and very relevant to the Oh so creative G. E. R.s Report.
