Gaelic speaking towns and villages

Hello!

I was wondering if there is a source on the web that lists the Gaelic speaking towns and villages in Scotland. If anyone can help me I would be very appreciative! Smile In the mean time I will keep searching, but so far wee luck.

Thank you!

Surely you'll have several town and villages with numbers of Gaelic and English speakers? I don't see you finding ones with just Gaelic speakers.

Elgol seemed very Gaelic when I was there a couple of months ago for a funeral.

The Census for 2001 should have the stats on wards with the most Gaelic speakers. Well we do in Wales anyway. A ward in Caernarfon has the highers percentage of Welsh speakers, but Cardiff has the highest numbers of Welsh speakers by now.

Oops, im sorry, I should have been more clear. I didn't mean towns and villages that only speak gaelic, but that perhaps speak it enough that it would be practical to know the language (as I am working on). I will try to find a list on the census, im sure there are several, it's just the matter of knowing which ones if you follow. Thank you for the help! Very Happy
