He just inspires no confidence whatsoever, the Scottish renaissance is gone...

Give him a chance, he doesnt need to inspire confidence in us, he only needs to pick a team and coach them into a unit with a few days together.
He inspires enough confidence in hearts players to believe they were heading for the champions league and enough confidence in Ipswich players to take them up to the Premiership and then on to the UEFA cup, he took Ayr Untd to two challenge cup finals in two seasons.
So far he has had three matches, won one, drew one, lost one. The one he lost was away to Macedonia, which is much the same than our last away game before he took charge, away to Georgia.
He has always had a bit of a drawl in his voice but that shouldnt be a problem if he delivers. That has still to be seen.

Souness would have been an option but his comparable record was no better than Burley's.
We dont know how Burley would have done at rangers in that era but his record at Ipswich matches Souness at Blackburn, promotion, top 6 finish, followed by relegation battle and sack.
Burley took Southampton to the play-offs, Souness took over and they were worse.
Burley has shown that he can do well at every club he has been at, whereas Souness made a total balls-up at Benfica, Liverpool and Newcastle.
So, Souness didnt have the ideal CV I wouldnt have been averse to him or Joe Jordan getting the job. Burley has had less failure than Souness and appears to get the best out of limited players, whereas Souness seems to get the worst out of big-name players.
As I said, Burley has had three games in charge, apart from friendlies, we cant say he is 'rubbish' until we see how it pans out. His record at club level certainly isnt 'rubbish'

I was all for Burley's appointment. Actually, I think, I would have prefered McGhee but I'm willing to give George a chance.
Many talk about the ´glory' of McLeish and Smith but they also made a bundle of errors and had bad results. Belarus at home, I'm sure Smith played 4-5-1 in that game and McLeish away to Georgia, Georgia did their best to let us win that game by fielding about 5 17year olds including their keeper, who had never played for his club side.
We had a lot of luck last year in the run up to the Euro 2008 Group, last minute winner against Georgia at Hampden, Both France games were amazing but they pummelled us for a majority of that game and could not score. We also had some fantastic games - Lithuania and Ukraine at home, were two of the greatest Scotland performances that I've ever seen or remembered.
Sorry, I am blethering on a bit.
As for George, He sounds passionate enough but so do I. From his first year in charge, it hasn't looked great at all. We are struggling for goals and looked pretty dodgy. Norway was an eye opener, on another day if Carew had his boots on, they would have safely took the points off us.
As long as we put in a decent performance tomorrow, I won't be too disappointed in the result. I'm not expecting a draw or win but with a bit of luck and hope, who knows, what might happen. The BIG game for George is on Wednesday, where we MUST beat Iceland to have any chance of reaching the World Cup.
If we fail to take at least 3pts, I think it could be curtains for George. The media are already sniffing around at him, the fans seem a bit 50-50 on his record.
Good luck to him, he comes across as sincere and nice person in the press conferences. I can't imagine him motivating or shouting at the lads at half-time but I wish him and the national side all the success and luck in the world.

graeme souness has won more as a player than burley. as a manager souness has won trophies for his teams on both sides of the border. the name souness carries instant respect, burley does not.it was the wrong appointment as we shall soon find out.

Traditionally, we start sentences with a capital letter. And leave a small gap after punctuation marks. If nothing else, adopting this cunning tactic might help you present gibberish as reasoned opinion.
