Labour Hypocrites
A quick glance of Hansard shows that the following EDM1088 signatures, voted against the SNP/Plaid Cymru debate with an almost identical text wording:
The Roll of Shame:
Colin Challen (very disappointing as I admired him for his Climate Change agenda)
Ronnie Campbell
Michael Clapham
Jim Cousins (Labour Scot)
Ann Cryer
Jim Devine (Livingston MP)
Neil Gerrard
Ian Gibson (Labour Scot)
Jim McGovern (Dundee West MP)
Austin Mitchell
Linda Riordan
Jon Trickett
The rush of Scottish, or Scottish-born but representing an English seat, Labour MPs who have rallied to support Blair this time even though they have publicly campaigned against the war on Iraq is galling. Michael Connarty. Ann McKechin. And Joan Ruddock? I used to admire her for her leadership of CND in the 1980s.
Congratulations to Dr Gavin Strang for having the integrity to vote according to his beliefs and previous support for EDM 1088.
It's very clear that because it was a Nationalist motion they couldn't bring themselves to support the motion. Talk about putting your party prejudices before your own beliefs, and your own country's interests, disgraceful. But we wont forget.

SNP/Plaid force the debate on Iraq
Well done to Adam Price (Plaid Cymru MP), Angus Roberston and the Nationalist parliamentary group for giving the UK Government a run for the money, not to mention exposing the hypocrisy of Labour MPs who shout about Iraq but couldn't bring themselves to rebel and assert parliamentary scrutiny of Blair's Middle Eastern folly.
For three years (yes, no debate since July 2004), the Tories and Lib Dums have been talking a good game about making Blair accountable for deplorable mess we are in in Iraq but it took an SNP/PC opposition day debate (the only one they are allowed in the parliamentary year) to force the issue.
The debate had a similar text to Early Day Motion 1088, so one would expect that all its Labour co-signees rebelled against the government in support of what they believe in? You would, wouldn't you? Well only 12 Labour rebels tonight (haven't got the names yet but when I do, I'll be matching them to the EDM 1088 signatures to find the hypocrites, fearties and shallow politicians who despite all that is going wrong in the world still can't bring themselves to vote for a Nationalist motion).
