How can we still afford Trident 2?With hundreds of billions being poured into the banks and the financial system to avoid fiscal breakdown how can we still afford to fork out £27 billion on an updated missile system that we can never, ever use?

Given that the debt associatted with WWII was only paid off a few years ago and that that was a mere fraction of the current national debt I suspect it may be left to great grandchildren to pay this one off ... and we've not even been to war 
But yeah, T2, waste of money we don't have.
