Although dont agree with the imagery of 10,000 black USAF pilots bombing white neighbourhoods, which he used to whip up media frenzys and although personally believing in non-violence, sometimes pandering to the violent side of the movement

He believed in non-violence to those who were non-violent, but he also believed in the right to defend ones self.

I agree his views were that. But isnt the quote in 1962, found in Sitkoffs, "Struggle for Black Civil Rights" about the Black bombers that i mentioned above slighty provokitive, although i am in no way justifying the earlier use of violence by White anerica in Birmingham during the freedom rides or such other violence
