Me again!I'm sort of back in the swing of things after a tremendously busy August. . . A Friend accused me of attempting to pack an entire summer's worth of fun into one month!
BA, don't read any further, it's all just blathering!
I worked the local county fair, that killed the first week of Aug. After the fair I had 1 day to do the packing for a week away. We spent one day driving to Boise to get to the airport, then flew to Texas for a week with my sister and dad, got to spend a weekend with daughter number 2, then flew back to Boise where daughter number one and her family flew in half an hour before we got there. The next day we all crammed into one car and drove 5 hours home.
Spent the next 10 days playing with grandsons, taking the whole works of us to the beach for 3 days, visiting family and taking them back to Boise to the airport.
After that I had 3 whole days to do up all the vacation laundry and get the house put back together then we went down on the Snake river for camping and cat fishing. . . 4 days there was a very nice vacation from the earlier part of the month! Very peaceful
Got home on a Monday and had in service at school on Tuesday. . . I am doing just one class this year, High School science so my year will be easy but it's all just the calm before the storm, I'll have second grade next year!
School officially began last Monday, that's always fun, and I have a nice small group so we can get a lot of great science stuff done.
We got a real treat, the youngest grandson turned 2 while he was here so we got to throw him a fun party and his mom told us that grandchild number 3 is due in March! Guess where I'll be heading for Spring Break!

Hi Kathy, nice to see you again and congratulations on the expected new arrival.
Grandchildren are hard work sometimes, but at least you get to give them back.

Yadda Yadda Yadda ....
Gods, you witches sure find a lot of nothing to blether about! Put a cork in it!!!
mairead

I rather think it was you who was in need of a cork last week.

Good point actually! 10 out of 10 for humour. 0 out of 10 for reminding me! Just you wait!!!

I know, I know. I await your onslaught.

more blahblahblah! When I read put a cork in it I thought, 'bend over' but maybe I will rethink that. . . probably wouldn't do to get too close. . .
The local orchestra began rehearsals this evening and I was given the music for the big regional orchestra, so it looks like I'm doing double duty again.
Over the summer I got a new-used Bass Clarinet, its a very nice one, so I am glad to have a spot to use it.
The town I live in is getting new water system arrangements, easier to meter and count the usage I guess. They started working this morning about 6 AM, right in my bedroom. . . at least it sounded that way, I had my bedroom window open. I will not make that mistake again! Noisy and irritating and they all had to back up at the same time, that stupid back up beeper on heavy equipment sounds just like my alarm clock. SICK! And they really are right in front of my house and working past but it's a long slow process. It will be 3 more days before they get to the next side street turning and away from my bedroom!
2 months ago they set a cable into the old water meter spot, in my driveway, it's orange and sticking out along the ground, it looks like a snake. We buried it so we could get the horses past it without freaking anyone out. The water people came tapping at my door today wanting to know what we'd done with it. . . They've sprayed pink instructions on the street, that's hard enough to get wary horses past, laying a thick orange snake in the driveway is asking for trouble!
I wish it would snow, then they'd have to quit!

I start to read your missives, Kaffy ... but then after three sentences I get a sharp need to BURN MY EYES OUT WITH A CIGARETTE!!! Jeez, wummin ... get yourself a blog! Don't inflict this on us! We just DON'T CARE ENOUGH!!!

Happy to help with your torture practices blacky!
I do have a blog, but you'd have to be interested. . .
There is a backhoe blocking my car this afternoon. I hope I don't need to go get a coffee or something less important!

His good manners certainly do not improve with age Kathy.
Blackadder
My good manners are reserved for those who deserve them ... not the lower orders!
mairead
The upper enchelons of society are actually quite infamous for their lack of good manners, blinded as they are by their own delusions of self importance.
Blackadder
What's an "enchelon"???
kathyv
Ah well, that gives us lower orders something to snicker at!
Blackadder
I see my question has still not been answered. And don't tell me it was a typo. That first "n" is a long way from the next letter of the word, whch should read "echelon".
Idiots ... I'm working with idiots. And there's several villages requiring their presences!!!
mairead
Idiots, well it takes one to know one doesn't it.
Blackadder
And you know lots of them in your neck of the woods, don't you?
mairead
Not locally but I know, though not personally, a few in our Scotland forums.
Blackadder
From which, of course, I'm exempt! But I know what (and who) you mean ...
mairead
I bet you do at that, and I'm not referring to anyone on this thread either.
Blackadder

You can be very nasty when you put your mind to it, can't you, Mairead? Have you always been such a thoroughly disagreeable old bat? Or is it something that just comes naturally to you? Like some sort of perverted talent for unnatural invective???
mairead
Well I guess I can be nasty, but then, Can't we all. I'm actually a very placid natured person but even I have a breaking point.
Blackadder
And obviously a lot easier to break than the rest of us!!!
mairead
I doubt that. It takes a great deal to anger me.
Blackadder
Oh I don't know. I figure I'd break you within five minutes of meeting you in the flesh ...
mairead
No chance of that. I don't break easily.
Blackadder
I'll bet you won't say that after the piano has dropped on your head!!!
mairead
OUCH.......Sore Pain.
Blackadder
Don't walk under any shadows above you!!!
mairead
It would be hard to see any shadows for the bloody rain clouds these days.
Blackadder
Oh I'd manage with a baby grand!!!
