Mod 2008 Falkirk Website LaunchedMod 2008 Falkirk has gone online. A new website will introduce the area to visitors and let local people know what they can expect when the Royal National Mod comes to the district next October - bringing with it an estimated 10,000 participants and spectators.
Grangemouth-based company First Direct Solutions has provided its expertise free of charge to promote the annual festival of Gaelic culture. The firm provides a high quality website design service including database development and web marketing to a wide range of clients.
Councillor Angus MacDonald, Chairman of Mod 2008 Falkirk says the organising committee is delighted with the professional, colourful website. "We are pleased to see the launch of the official Mod 2008 Falkirk website, www.mod2008falkirk.org, and hope it attracts many visitors. The Mod Committee would like to thank Richard Clason, Managing Director of First Direct Solutions Ltd, and his colleagues who have generously donated their time and expertise to create a superb website which will be read all over the globe by Gaels and non-Gaels alike from New Zealand to Canada and around the UK."
Richard Clason, Operations Manager of First Direct Solutions Ltd said: "When we heard that the Royal National Mod was coming to Falkirk in 2008 we were delighted to donate our website design service to the Mod organisers. The Mod has never been in Falkirk before and we wanted to be associated with the plans to make next year's Mod a success."
Speaking on behalf of An Comunn Gàidhealach (The Highland Association) which organises the nine-day event, Murdo Morrison, Promotion Manager said "The Mod 2008 website is a very welcome addition to the range of communications sources used to tell people about the National Mod and Gaelic language and culture in general. We are delighted to see the launch of the 2008 website and we too would add our thanks to First Direct Solutions for their valuable assistance in getting the site up and running".
Visitors to the district will find information on attractions such as the Falkirk Wheel and the beautiful Callendar House and Callendar Park. As the countdown to the Mod continues there will also be up to date information on venues, advice on booking accommodation and details of fundraising activities, updated in English and Gaelic.
