Nine more of the men arrested last week in the "terror" raids released withour charge. No evidence, no bombs, no guns.

The sting in the tail is the Home Office is seeking their deportation, sending them home before they cause the government any more embarrassment.

When will the media realise that 'terror threats' coincide with Gordon Brown being under pressure?

eleven of them face deportation apparently, one is british and will have no follow up.

I was going to post an ironic question as to why Linoleum didnt bring this up after he proclaimed that hassling muslims at airports would prevent people like this geting in, but I thought it better just to report the facts.

So, if you're a foreigner a mere accusation can get you deported. It seems to be a case of innocent until proven Muslim these days.

They have to deport them, to allow them to stay would be an admission that the whole thing was bogus.

Last week Gordon Brown said

"We are dealing with a very big terrorist plot … there were a number of people who are suspected of it who have been arrested. That police operation was successful.

"We know that there are links between terrorists in Britain and terrorists in Pakistan. That is an important issue for us to follow through and that's why I will be talking to President Zardari about what Pakistan can do to help us in the future."

i'm delighted they are being thrown out of the country.the police did not hold them for 12 days or so with NO evidence, just not enough to charge and the best option was not to proced and throw anti-british racists like this out of the country.scum is as scum is.

The hilarious thing is that he previously pulled me up on an "innocent until proven gulity" point.

In the thread where he and jamesie were saying that all slovakian roma are criminals I pointed out that there had been three murders in my neighbouring villages that week, none of them by immigrants.

Lino steeped in to say that I shouldnt make those comments until after a fair trial.

My my, tempers are becoming frayed.

My favourite part of this whole affair was the Sun title :

'YOU CAN'T QUIT QUICKER THAN A THICK QUICK QUITER' related to the resignation of the man who displayed the suspects names by accident(a shame for him and his family, but Brown had to appease the mob rather than say, the guy made a mistake, he's learned from it).

Whilst one is busy worrying about the suspects, spare a thought for : all the journalists put into jails in their countries; women whipped and imprisoned for being gang raped; women buried upto their necks and giant rocks dropped onto their heads for adultery... well you know the rest.
