Old Firm game this weekendWell i'll be there, Broomloan Road end..... Not sure it's the best £34 i'll ever spend. Now anyone who knows me will agree that i'm not the most optimistic fella in the world but i'm really pessimistic about this game.
Oh well, here's hoping.....
Thankfully i'm not in work Monday, mates up from London for the weekend so a long weekend ahead.

I take heart from watching recent Rangers games on TV - they are pretty s***e.
I still think that Celtic will win the league, not sure about tomorrow and would probably settle for a draw right now.

Think Celtic have to win tomorrow or Rangers could run away with the League. Sure I heard that on the Radio. Pity Queen of the South have drawn Aberdeen and not Celtic in the cup. My favourite teams are Celtic and QOS

Sorry mistake that was the draw Aberdeen beat Celtic and will play Queen of the South in the cup.

I know a couple of local guys from Nethrthird (my part of Cumnock) who play for Queens, Paul Burns and Brian Gilmour. I hope they make it to the final Red.
I used to live in Dumfries in the 80's for a while and knew the towns favourite footballing sons Kevin "Ted" McMinn and Ian 'pele' McColl.

I will look out for the two names from Cummock who play for Queens. I saw Palmerston Park last year but only from the outside when in my Aunt's car not sure if they have ever been able to have money to spend on the ground.
QOS can upset the big teams at times but never got the crowds or money to go beyond being a part-time football team so never in history able to afford promotion to the SPL. look at Gretna's difficulties now!
I left Dumfries in 1978 as a teenager Rinty.
I see QOS have a website.

Can't remember the that particular location at moment Rinty.
I was born and raised in Maxwelltown Dumfries near Queen's football ground only a street or two along from it.

That was meant to say early 80's.
I know Maxwelltown I think, the white rabbit club?
My relatives lived in that neck of the woods, the Loy's, their grandson Rory, is a Rangers player.
I was pretty young then and most of my time in dumfries I was out my face. I liked the place though and made some good freinds.
The cottage I lved in was outside of Dumfries past locharbriggs on the road to moffat, there is a big cross on a split in the road.

I was a young 16 when I left Dumfries so never drunk in pubs or clubs not being old enough.
Maxwelltown is across the Bridge. Across the water from the Whitesands.
I was at Moffat in October last year as well as my home town.
Also like your way I am sure there a lot of good junior football teams in Dumfriesshire.
