Paedophile goes on the runCan someone explain to me why a man who has just been found guilty of raping two children was released on bail? I don't understand why the jubge would possibly justify this.

I was expecting some generic paedophile-bashing when I saw the title of this thread, but surprisingly it actually raises a good point.

Cheers Av
They've just arrested the guy btw. Never even got out of Edinburgh.

Just to clarify: not because of the poster, rather the topic. It's a very rare thing to hear anything remotely sensible said on the subject of paedophiles.

i am not normally in favour of the daily mail "throw away the key" type of sentencing but i think for things like this it should be a one strike and your out offence and you should never be released afterwards. the risk of reoffending is too great.
if there is significant evidence you have committed this crime then there should be no bail until a trial is completed.
its sad that if you rob a post office and you will be in jail for a good decade at least. molest weans and you can maybe get five years on a bad day.
