Police ArrestsIf you have a look on the bbc website, there is a story that Manchester police are not going to execute arrest warrants during Ramadan on Muslims.
I have a few questions or points regarding this;
1) How do they know the arrest warrant is for a muslim? A name does not represent a religion.
2) Will they have the same consideration for other religious groups? e.g. Such as christians at easter and xmas?
3) The police are there to perform a service to the community so they should be performing these arrests when they are required for the public and not for the suspect.
4) Why do muslims require special treatment? Is this not a form of discrimination?
What do people think of this?

iYou read it wrong, it says that they wont arrest people during prayer times at ramadan (5 times per day), that would be sensible if you ask me. The police can wait until the prayers are over and then arrest them.
Would they go in to a church service and arrest a christian? I dont think that they would, the police would probably wait until the service was over!

No what it says is that they won't arrest Muslims that might be praying during Ramadan. I think it should be irrelevant the religious persuasion of the person that is to be arrested. And if they are scheduled under warrant to be arrested then they should arrest them. I don't care if they are praying in a church, synagogue, mosque or at home. The police are here to police and no place or time shoule be "sacred" where arrests can't be performed. And no one should be offended by the police doing their job. But yet there will be lots of "pc" people jumping on their bandwagon.

The only "people jumping on their bandwagon" are the bigotted anti-Islamists who try to twist every non-story to their advantage.
Thankfully, we can see through them.

I don't think police would generally execute non-urgent arrest warrants on Christmas Day, so I don't see why they shouldn't be sensitive to Ramadan.
