RBS advertisementThe RBS Bank advertisement that is being shown on STV at the present time is factually incorrect.
The voice over states at the end “RBS a great Scottish Bank”
RBS was brought to its knees by greed and mismanagement and would have gone under had it not been for the British taxpayer bailing it out, and now owning seventy percent of the bank.
A more factual voice over would say “A Great British Bank”

a more factual voice would surely just say
"we're a bit s**t and were bailed out by a politically inept westminster government who possibly had other motives while throwing money around which will see future public services cut since they did what we did and have borrowed excessively"

Yes, it's the capitalist way. No business is "too big to fail" and the economy would have been none the worse for the clear-out. Other, better-run, banks would have picked up the pieces worth saving and the rubbish would have been swept away.
