Tie of the round HAS to be the Ayrshire derby - come on the Killie!

Decent chance of an upset in Inverness though...

it will be a shallow gene pool on display on the terraces of that game.

At least they won't spend the game celebrating the murder of civilians.

ayr along with fife are the two places in scotland that wouldnt be out of place in the film deliverance.

We are concentrating on the League again this season

Not even that possibility of some consolation happened But the fact that they are still in the cup, means it might distract them from the league and they will remain rooted to the bottom until the end of the season

I know Ayrshire pretty well - I work there. And yes, occasionally, the distant sound of a strumming banjo can be heard. But even rednecks generally have the sense to go to watch football for the right reasons, not to act out some adolescent fantasy about a foreign country.

Yup, looks like a Hamilton v. Inverness showdown for the wooden spoon. this year. I'm glad to see St Mirren out of trouble, and both Motherwell and Falkirk should have the depth of squad to see them through.

I've no illusions about Ayrshire whatsoever, having been brought up in a rural location and having travelled all over the world and seen what it has to offer.
You, on the other hand, seem to think that Glasgow is some sort of cultural centre of excellence that is superior to the rest of Scotland. Some of the most closed-minded sorts I've ever met are from Glasgow, yet these same sorts seem to hold it up as some sort of cultural mecca, despite never having so much as thought as to move somewhere else just to see what the world has to offer. When I tell these sorts that I'm from 'Kilmarnock', they throw me a look as if to say 'poor you' and then ask where it is, or might recall a story about being there once. They actually feel sorry for you as if Glasgow is the beginning and the end of the world. These sorts couldn't even tell you where 'Ayrshire' is. The same ones that throw me a 'but why?' look when I say I'm planning a six month trip to Latin America soon. Why would you ever want to leave this city?! They take it as a slight against themselves in most instances. Glasgow culturally-enlightened? Gimme a break!
Those 'city slum' dwellers as I like to call them, spend £250k on a city shoe box and love their £6 lattes from from a wanky little coffee shop on Byers Road, spending most of their time talking about how bloody wonderful Glasgow is without having lived anywhere else in their entire lives. Most Glasgow dwellers are, on the whole, terribly boring and one-dimensional, in my experience.
Those rural dwellers of Ayrshire could indeed be inbred banjo players, but they are the ones who have no illusions about who they are. They certainly have a higher quality of life to those living in the city slums, and ultimately use the land to produce the food which the largely overweight, underemployed and under-travelled Glasgow dweller eats.
Anyone who moves to Glasgow and doesn't believe it's the greatest city in the world is in for a tough time from the inhabitants.
Glasgow is wonderful, naewhere like it!
