unfortunately the exec have decided not to fund project scotland after 2008.

project scotland gets young people in scotland involved in volunteering and provides a small allowance for them to do so and pays their travel expenses.

I used the project for eight months after university and it has helped me get in to full time employment.

this is an absolutely ridiculous decision particularly given the move to get people into work (volunteering is a major route to employment for those with no experience/qualifications etc).

this will also impact on voluntary organisations who have benefited massively from the project.

things like this will continue to happen as the council tax has been frozen for 3 years. i agree, very silly.

Eurgh, what a name. Doubtlessly one of Jock MacDonall's Grand Plans.

But yes, I think the Executive is realising fast that students and young people are the easiest, electorally speaking, to screw over.
