No different to the Welsh tennor Paul singing "Nesun Dorma". (Don't know about the CNN report aspect though).

It just goes to show how obsessed this country and others are with the way someone looks.
She is a very good singer, but I've heard better.But because of her looks she has been elevated to some sort of miracle of nature !! The reaction of the crowd,Ant and Dec and Cowell just goes to show this. How could someone that looks like that sing like an angel !!! She can sing well because she's got a good voice,not because of her looks.Her looks don't determine her vocal capabilities.Her looks are irellivent. If this woman had been singing in a church choir on Songs of Praise,then no one would have batted an eyelid.But because she's on a popular talent show governed by looks and image,we think "well what a surprise". I not having a go at her,I'm having a go at our shallow society which has been brainwashed into believing that looks matter.Shame on us ! I hope she does well out of this.She deserves it ! |

This type of discrimination works both ways though?
How many times have you heard people express surprise when a good looking blond has a brain and a personality!!!! let alone a real talent for anything? |

Fully concur with you and Dave. That's the reason why I posted it. We're all too often too ready to judge a book by it's cover. And it's good to be reminded from time to time.
