Smothering political debate?Well, we have had the three main political party anual circuses. Was it worth it? Are we any the wiser? have we had a viable discourse on their policies and intentions for the near future? Ones that are important, comprehensible and meaningful, like for instance on tax, war on want, war on terror, war on criminals and most importantly, the war on us of disinformation, of sound bites, spin and whatever politicians want us to believe of themselves and their abilities. Have we been enlightened? I don't think so. Do we now hold the main political party's and their political chicanery in higher regard since the circuses came to town? No, less in fact. So whats the solution to the problem? Not kissing dribbleing baby's arses and and glad handing thats for certain. There must be something better than this to inspire us and make us actually believe they do have a concern for us and our everyday problems in life. I read this article printed in the Herald before the Cameron circus came to town. Was the article written with acute perception or was it as I suspect, written in exasperated expectation of the norm when the anual political circus comes to town. So it is a choice between promises or lack of promises on what so ever the party political policies of whatever? A pox on all three of their houses. No clear direction from them, just muddy water and they wonder why many people are apathetic to them. Well, even apathetic people can become restless and angry if goaded enough. The dismantling of the NHS for instance in the name of re-organisation, The comfort zone of a local hospital and services removed from a community, Downsizing of local council services in the name of efficiency. Nice one that about having rubbish cleared away every fortnight instead of every week and why it would be better done during the winter and colder weather than in the summer. So the politicians are aware of the threat of public anger, of disquiet, of rebellion even. Well its nice to know that if politicians continue carrying on the way they are then they may be the instrument of their own mainstream political party downfall and disgrace by arousing even the most apathetic from their slumbers. Direct action is action by people who feel they have no other recourse and mainly caused by politicians in power and their decisions, by their dogma to the party line, by their inflexibility, by their adherence to mein leader, right or wrong. I do not extoll direct action. I do not advocate violence but I do advocate civil disobedience and I do advocate resistance to bad law, resistance to obstructions to civil liberties and resistance to actions by governments done in our name without our consent. There is a growing feeling in the UK of disapointment, of anger even at the diktats of government, both UK and local. The surge of opinion for independence in Scotland is not unrelated to it and those politicians who for so long have governed to enhance their own prospects, to advance their own criteria and that of their financial backers.Take heed, for indeed the natives are not only restless but they are increasing becoming more angry and disenfranchised from the existing polical process as this government continues to sink even deeper into a morass of sleeze and moral corruption.( did you watch Panorama tonight by the way).
