SNP candidate commends council group walk outhttp://www.glasgowsnp.org/By-elec..._commends_council_group_walk_out/
SNP by-election candidate, David Kerr, hailed the action of the SNP Group in Glasgow council after they walked out in protest at the Lord Provost's refusal to discuss the scourge of organised crime in Glasgow.
Commenting, Mr Kerr said: "Labour's failure to address organised crime in the city has been exposed.
"While the Labour Council run from organised crime, the SNP - both at council and national level - are tackling the problem head on.
"Not only have the SNP Government put an additional 1044 police officers on the street and set up a serious organised crime task force, we are also hitting criminals where it hurts with our Cashback for Communities scheme which sees ill gotten criminal gains returned to communities.
"And today the SNP group in Glasgow City Council said enough is enough - organised crime in Glasgow must be tackled.
"A vote for the SNP on November 12 will be a vote against Labour's complacency and a vote for a brighter, safer future for Glasgow North East."

Let me get this right...
an SNP fellow commends the actions of other SNP fellows....
Picture the scene: Global World Universe News Association HQ.
Eager Beaver Cub Reporter;
"Boss! Boss! Breaking News!"
World Weary and Battle Hardened Editor;
"What's that, Eager Beaver?".
EBCR;
"The SNP has praised the SNP! In Glass-gowe!"
WWBHE;
"You don't say, EBCR!, now that's news! In Glass-gowe you say. Pretty amazing!"
EBCR;
"I know. Who would believe it? Look it says here "SNP Candidate hails the actions of SNP Group in Glasgow".
WWBHE;
"Wow! And he's a candidate too! This'll sure make 'em sit up in the chancellories and back streets of the world. Get it to the subs room right away. I want it to make the late editions..... What else you got, boy?"
EBCR;
"There's this great story about dog bites man... should I get on it right away....?
WWBHE...
"Looks like it's gonna be a great day for news...."

Re: SNP candidate commends council group walk out
Do these people really think they're doing good by doing that? That's a sort of tone of "oh things are not going my way so I'll just walk out of here. That'll teach them".

Yes.
Do you really think you're doing good by supporting the dying corpse of what was once a left-wing party of the common man and is now just a nepotistic boys/girls club offering jobs for the boys/girls.

I'm not supporting. I'm just commenting.

there no left wing parties that people vote for now. all the main parties are centre right, including the snp.
new labour saw the light and remain inpower. 12 years later.

Only because they managed to pinch some tory voters and dupe many of their traditional voters.
Look at the state of them now as Tory voters return to the tories and traditional Labour voters have finally woken up to the fact that their 'party of the people' has become a party of the banks and big business.
So much so that it looks like the CWU are about to withdraw funding, merely another nail in the coffin of the Labour party over comments made in relation to the royal mail strike.

I am sure the Lyons and Daniels will be quaking in their boots now that the SNP councillors have walked out of the City Chambers....
Wasn't it the Labour Council who campaigned to have the Chirnsyde Community Initiative which was ran by the Lyons closed down?
Maybe the SNP Goverment should be looking to fund the SDEA and finish their campus not far from the North of Glasgow before complaining.
What does someone like Kerr know about life and gangs in Glasgow schemes.... Not alot.

They managed it by pretending to be something they were not.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a general move to the left in the coming decade or so. The left isn't dead by a long shot, it may currently be in intensive care, but dead? no I think not.
As to whether I should 'get over it', what makes you think I even care.

nah, the y ditched the leftie tag, people liked it and they were voted into power. it worked.
now we have the tories doing a similar thing, cleaning up the image, ditching the rightie tag and will soon be in power.
no-one wants far left or far right crap anymore. centre right is how the major parties are, even the snp though they are not really major anynore.
