tartan armyi have to say i dont know where this fantastic reputation comes from. twice in recent months i have had the misfortune to encounter these people and all i have seen is a pished up group of backward misfits who seem to think its ok to pish all over the place, throw stuff about and abuse people (generally young lassies at that).
the general consencus though seems to be that its ok to do this cos your a cheekie chappie from the tartan army.
well done to the scotland team but my god those tartan army people are a shower of c***s.

Overreaction or what? I include myself in 'the Tartan Army' and would never act the way you seem to think 'these people' do.
Lets get this into perspective - generally you see pissed people all over the world pissing wherever they want, acting like idiots etc. I hardly think this sort of behaviour is confined to drunken Tartan Army footsoldiers.
Secondly, from your post you seem to be suggesting that EVERY single person who considers themselves a 'footsoldier' acts in this way - that is completely false.
This has been possibly the greatest victory for Scotland in the last 20-30 years. This has obviously led to quite a few folk having had a bit much to drink and to act like idiots - something I'm sure everyone here has done at least once.

What all 50k of them? Rubbish. Every large group of football fans who've won a game that important are going to have folk who act up. In general the Scotland fans deserve the reputation they've got.
I hear exactly the same comments you've just made from Hibs fans about Cetlic and their self-proclaimed 'best fans in the world'.

dont follow any international football in fact. generally i want to see the 26 counties and scotland do well but thats about as far as it goes.
i've been in the company of a few different types of fans watching games and the proportion of c***s i seen on saturday was far higher than anything i have been used to previously.
I actually spoke to a mate in work who goes to a lot of scotland games today and he agreed with the majority of what i was saying. theres also another poster on here who agrees but he wont openly admit it

It's terribly wrong of you to blame the actions of a few on the many. I'm not in the Tartan Army myself but belong to several other groups and similar comments have occasionally been tossed our way when most of us are good, decent people.
Where you have a very large number of people, in any circumstance, you will always find a few nutters.

Speaking for American football fans I can definatly say we like to get drunk and piss all over the place, leaving the action to find a urinal just wouldnt be manly...Can some one explain the shower of c***s reference for this ignorant yankee

That still doesn't make what you said any more truthful though....
....why are you so bitter about Scotland fans? It's been a long time since I've seen you 'spitting blood' like that in a post.
Do you think Celtic have the 'best fans in the world' as is claimed by most of the fans themselves?

Old Firm fan in 'stereotypical dig at Scotland fans' shocker!
I was at the game and apart from a few steamers in a packed pub knocking my beer over, I thought the behaviour of the fans (both pre and post match) was superb. Not perfect but considering there was 50,000 at the game, I thought they done the team proud.
You know that after a Scotland game, you'll get this kind of pish from the usual suspects re the Scotland support. They just can't help themselves.
Funny that they don't take the moral highground with their own club's fans who have, on many occassions, committed far worse 'crimes' than getting pished and talking through their arses.

I think just because there is a charity type thing set up doesnt mean that they are a good organisation, eg the BNP. However im sure if you could look at the arrests on saturday nite they would only be slighty higher than usual due to, as azzuri states, just a few more drunk people. When Scotland played italy last year i was at the game and the atmosphere was amazing and there was no ill feeling at all. Even the ultras clapped with us.
Als o the tartan army will be made up of some of your
Celtic fans too, or was it only the rangers and everyone elses fans that would lower themselves to this level?

I've never even seen the huns dish out some of the stuff the scottish culture car crash mob dish out to the general public (generally young lassies).
prob the only reason half these c***s dont get a good beating is cos who the f**k wants to roll about fighting with a grown man in a skirt and six foot high feathers.

Gung-Ho and parkhead - both totally uncalled for posts.
this thread has degenerated into nothing but silly name-calling, not surprising given the nature of the first post.
Thread Locked.
