The SPF think that all police officers should be issued with these and it is hard to argue againest when police officers are now expect to face armed gangs and crimminals with a baton a pepper spray.

However these weapons can be lethal to those with weak hearts

You can almost see the story now - Police kill drunk with taser

Someone out of control when drunk and maybe not taking his/her heart medication has seizure after being tasered. How would the police officer react and feel to having killed someone? Where would be the governmet stand then with a backlash against its use?

Its a risk I don't think we should be put through.

I think we should arm police with swords

1) its harder to accidentily kill someone with a sword
2) it would be a good way to disarm someone without killing them - no pun intended
3) the fear of being maimed is probably greater than the fear of being tasered or shot
4) it would look cool

A sword sounds good... But the week and scared will always favour the gun...

I think it's a mistake giving them to all cops. Should be limited like firearms are.
