Taste of things to comeAlex Salmond today has highlighted the disparity in charges levied on companies on different sides of the border to connect to the grid.
The article appears in The Herald....see link below.

Now that these issues are being highlighted by the Executive the media will be obliged to cover them. There are sure to be raised eyebrows amongst many of the populace as they become increasingly aware of these hitherto undisclosed practices.

Absolutely. I also hope Salmond an co dig into the practices of the former Unionist numptocracy that hitherto governed Scotland.

It would seem that Scotland on Sunday has continued to use fantasy Labour spin as headlines. An article today centres on the two new prisons that had been earmarked by Labour for bulding under PFI, this decision is being reviewed by the new administration.
See the article below:

Reading through the article and it is clear that the headline of '£750 million' increase in cost has been provided by "labour insiders". SOS could just have easily and lazily stated in the headline that costs will fall due to the new executives proposal of not for profit mechanism.
SOS have also been less than honest by suggesting that the Lowmoss bid was rejected when in fact the officials were not even allowed to submit a proposal. This was actually a news item around 10 days ago.

Eddie Barnes is pretty useless even by Scottish jounalistic standards. This story should be getting a positive spin. The BBC did a survey at the start and the end of the election campaign and both found top (or pretty much top, I can't quite remember) to be the desire to see PFI projects to be scrapped.
