The 'I don't give a flying...' threadThis is the one and only post I'll be making on this topic, so listen up;
The once-mighty azzuri has crept out from his 'cowardly lair' (according to some private messages sent in my general direction!) to pass judgement, and you shall all stand to attention and listen to my rant.
I don't even know what the hell I'm supposed to be commenting on, this whole thing has become so ridiculous.
First off, Rinty is no longer a moderator, and the mods are always going to stick together publicly on an issue. Rinty asked me to take away his mod status, and this has now been done.
To clarify, this section is for 'General Banter' and you can write about pretty much any-f***ing-thing you like in here, I don't give a s**t. As long as it's not libelous, and doesn't break any laws, I DON'T CARE!
I originally set up this forum to chat with like-minded others about Scottish politics, not to deal with this crap. You are acting like a bunch of schoolchildren, the behaviour has ranged from tit-tat arguments to forms of bullying I haven't encountered since primary school, it's pretty pathetic for a bunch of supposed adults, but hey, that's only my personal opinion. You can sort out your own mess, because I DON'T CARE!
I think this part of the forum has proven it's worth. It shows that you'll always get people bantering in one way or another, and it's better to give people an area to do it in, rather than let it pollute other discussions. From day one, I set out to create a site where moderation would occur only during EXTREME circumstances, and I like to think we've achieved that.
If you are looking for a forum that has moderators who are going to intervene just because two of you can't agree on the colour of s***e, then this isn't the place and i advise you to look elsewhere. I and the other mods are not paid referees. Within the legal boundaries, SAY WHAT YOU WANT.
If you don't like the way the site is being run, then tough. It's not a public service and you haven't paid a penny to use it.
I come on here for some politics chat and some light-hearted banter, not for this to be a 2nd job and take up all of my free time. Unfortunately, I've been too busy out there, dealing with real issues in real life, such as how I'm going to pay my bills this month, and sitting at the hospital bedside of a dying relative, to care enough about the petty squabbles of those who I don't even know, hiding behind pseudonyms.
This is an internet forum used as a MEDIUM for chatting to people, not REAL-LIFE, and some of you need to get a serious grip on reality.

Azzuri, no-one else has replied, and I can't not say something to you.
I can totally understand your post, and your anger.
I want to apologise to you, for helping you feel this way.
I know how bloody hard it is looking after a dying relative.
It's what we do for family, but that doesn't make it easy.
Although I haven't posted huge amounts on your forum.
It's one of my favourite's.
This forum for me, has always been very different.
A very strong political forum, with a brilliant wee chat section.
You should honestly be very proud of your forum.
I know it's a very highly respected forum, by admins from other forums.
As you know I run FTS, but I'll admit, I would love to have it running like this one.
I'll take no more part in the recent discussions.
I would love to see Blackadder come back.
But while I'm waiting... I'll have a giggle with my good pals here.
If you feel like I'm licking your bum, well, bugger it, I dinna care.

I am truly sorry about your relative and I understand how you are feeling as I have to bury a relative later next week who has been very ill for a year now, and I have to go to the funeral of good friend tomorrow.
