UEFA CUP SeedingsThis is for the Draw on Tuesday. Aberdeen will be in Pot 5, so will not be drawn against Aris Salonica, FC Zürich, Larissa, Aalborg, Brann Bergen, Elfsborg or Helsingborg. But the list of teams they could get drawn against doesn't make for pleasant reading:
Pot 1
Villarreal
Bayern Munich
AZ Alkmaar
PAnathinaikos
FC Basel
Bordeaux
Bayer Leverkusen
Anderlecht
Pot 2
Spurs
Lokomotiv Moscow
Zenit St. Petersburg
Sparta Prague
AEK Athens
Hamburg
Bolton
Austria Vienna
Pot 3
Spartak Moscow
Sporting Braga
Galatasaray
Atlético Madrid
Getafe
Everton
Fiorentina
Rennes
Pot 4
Hapoel Tel-Aviv
Crvena Zvezda
FC Copenhagen
Toulouse
Dinamo Zagreb
Panionios
Nuremberg
Mladá Boleslav

Think it is going to be tough for them whoever they get drawn against, but it is tremendous that they made the group stages.
I would like to see them get drawn against one or possibly two of the English teams. Always interesting when a Scottish team plays an English team.

I don´t honestly believe Aberdeen will harbour any ambitions of getting through the group stages, so I imagine they´ll fancy a crack at a few of the big teams and just hope they can make a bit of money out of it.
Well done to all the Scottish teams though. We are riding the crest of a wave in terms of us as a footballinf nation just now.

Aye, getting there is long overdue for a scottish team outside of the old firm and the experience of playing a good standard of european team will help aberdeen's young side and will also, as azzurri says, bring in some cash.
If I was an Aberdeen fan I would want the biggest teams possible. You definitely want an English team and a Spanish team. Villareal, Hamburg (who aberdeen beat in the european super cup in 81-82), Everton and Copenhagen would be great.

Tottenham, as long as Aberdeen are at home... Spurs seem to be a lot weaker when they play away, so they're a big club AND a possible shock.

"totenham will give them a doing."
At least your consistent in your hostility to everyone except, well, you.
Aberdeen Get - Panathinaikos Lokomotiv Moscow Atletico Madrid Copenhagen
Aberdeen did very well to get there, it's a tough draw but I think it is great that they are there, it will be great experience for their young players and give the whole of the city a big lift.
I don't know yet what teams they face at home or away but this is adraw which gives them a chance of finishing in the top 3, very tough, but the other teams WILL take popints off each other.

i've been in new ork this week, i thought the post implied aberdeen had drawn spurs who would horse them. however, they will now be horsed 4 times.

Well I hope that they don't get "horsed". You can continue your hostility to everyone if you want but a week ago it looked like Scotland would slip down the coeficient ratings and now it looks like we can hold our position against the country behind us in the ratings, Ukraine.
Your desire to see Aberdeen get gubbed is embarrassing but I do understand that you probably hate Aberdeen and have done since the ian durrant incident.

i actually have a soft spot for aberdeen but i still think they will get horsed in this group, no question. what has ian durrant got to do with this?sg.

Very exciting draw for Aberdeen, the 2 games at todders are certainly games they can win. Copenhagen have not been as good as last term and also with the myth of Russians not traveling well too, tough away games in Greece and Spain and Greece might be a bit hostile but they went to Ukraine and managed to get a goal and the away goals victory,
just great to see a scottish side in the group stages..
go on the dons!

Really tough group, but they've got a wee chance just cause three teams go though. If they can sneak a point or two, a win at home to Copenhagen in their final game could be enough to see them through. Great two trips away for the fans as well.
