Walter Scott anniversary

Yesterday was the anniversary of the birth in 1771 of novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott. Probably uncoincidentally it is also the anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone [in 1840] of the fantastic monument to Sir Walter in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens.
