Actually azzuri he is suggesting a possible solution; he takes the causes or reasons as self evident.
There is certainly a great deal of merit to his suggestions. One of the great changes in America since the Reagan administration has been the destruction of the middle classes. Today people who earn their pay as wages confuse the concept of middle class with the concept of middle income, two very different ideas. With the loss of the middle classes, it has been the financial industries that have grown to fill the vacuum and as the author of the blog points out nothing quells criticism like success and money, lots of it. I suspect that something of the same is true of the UK generally, Scotland in particular. In the 18th and 19th century Scotland was reknown for its entreprenurial middle classes. And like the song says, when will we see your like again, in America for certain, in Scotland possibly. |

When we can halt the exedous of our raw and nurtured talent, and reverse the decline of our population, focus on only the Scottish ecconomy. I would say definately.
