A bit like the Mary Celeste.

It sounds interesting. Do you have a news link?
Babygael

Hai Leathlaobhair,

I'm afraid not, I only heard it on the radio so far.The evening news should englighten us further as to who the people were on it and where they came from, hopefully!

You can try http://www.nationnews.com
by tomorrow they should have something in the paper.

A yacht washed ashore off the same east coast a few months ago.An American couple were aboard but were rescued at sea by another passing yacht. I took some photographs of it beached and breaking up!

I think the logo on it indicated that it was from Salsalito. hope I spelt that correctly!!

This latest one is a real shocker though. Everyone here is sitting by the radio/tv to get the latest scoop!

I ment to ask, if its ok.Your username leathlaobhair means something to do with books?? I have found it very interesting!

It's my maternal surname. Leathlaobhair literally translates as half-speaker but means mutterer. Someone down the family line didn't talk very much apparently. Wink

It's also older Irish Gaelic; but the word book (leabhar) and to speak (labhair) are very similar.

Hai Leathlaobhair, that a great name! Thanks for explaining.

They found 11 bodies on the Boat. The had no food or water on board and were apparently dead for about a week.It looks like they came from West Africa,Maybe Senegal. But nothing conclusive yet. All the bodies were found in the engine room.

Sad

This reads like a bad pirate novel.

So tragic. We hear awful stories about those leaving Cuba for Florida who have horrendous trips, many who die on the way but nothing like this has made it to the USA's news.

Thanks (I think) for the link Pogo, I read it and am sorry that this happened to those people.
