as sung by hibs fans yesterday.

i wonder if anything will be made of this particularly given the police had a massive presence in the celtic end to keep an eye on what was being sung.

Is that actually racist though? Obviously it's factually incorrect but I'm sure half of those called Bastards in the average football game have got fathers too, and am I to believe that every Orange Bastards resembles the Tango Man ? Wink

he is not a refugee as i'm sure celtic will have to have all the relevant home office paperwork completed b4 he can be employed by a british football club.

i wonder if anything will be done about artur borat AGAIN gesturing at oppostion fans.

not holding my breath there as the sfa always side with the old firm bigots.

i dont really think the fact he's not a refugee matters as we all know why they are singing it.

also if your going to racially abuse people you can take stick back.

They sung against Rudi Skackel as well a few years back and there's a clip of Deek Riordan looking quite worse for wear singing it as well in some pub, maybe the hibees fans need a wee look at international affairs. Czech Republic and Poland are part of the EU

hibs probably deserved the win so i dont have complaints with that.

I just think its terrible that celtic fans get hassled for singing the irish national anthem yet songs like this go unmentioned.

a good point, it is very unfair when football clubs are chastised for singing their 'anthems'. mind you the singer is not the judge and jury of the offensiveness of their songs.

mind you celtic and rangers fans have been singing anthems of hate and murder for decades, hell mend those bigots at rangers and celtc.

Absolutely. There is nothing wrong with Celtic fans singing "the fields of athenry" or rangers fans singing the "billy boys", its the changes to the lyrics and additional chants that are the problem. At that point, those who include the "extras" are sectarians who are trying to offend.

I'd have thought more people would be critical of this song than Celtic fans singing of the Irish National Anthem to be honest.

only a bigot would criticise someone for singing a national anthem.

you would be wrong then.

both in terms of the media and the police and stewards at football grounds.

Oh come off it Parkie, this is just the victim status you like to bring out every so often talking again. Yes people are critical of Celtic singing the Irish Anthem, but people are more likely to oppose racist singing than expressions of support towards another country.

why wasnt this song even mentioned then?

stv did a report stating that celtic had been reported for their fans behaviour at pittodrie...they then had to apologise when in fact that wasnt the case.

at easter road rows of police and stewards were strategically placed in amongst celtic fans, at aberdeen and inverness fans are routinely recorded by police with cameras. it doesnt happen to any other teams fans while incidents like this go unmentioned.

you wouldnt have even known about this song had i not brought it up on here.

Probably because saddly it happens far too often to be deemed newsworthy these days, while issues involving the Old Firm and Secterianism are big news at the moment in Scotland given the ongoing campaign by the SFA, Scottish Executive etc.

Of course I wouldn't have known about it - I don't want Celtic matches, for the exact same reason I wouldn't have heard about Rangers fans singing Secterian Songs at certain matches if some people hadn't posted videos on messageboards.

I'm sure Artur is very grateful for your help though!

no its big news because eufa decided to take action against rangers. the sfa then decided to follow along so people wouldnt ask why they hadnt done anything about it for so long.

celtic were then dragged into this new circus by the scottish media when it had nothing to do with us. for some reason in the media it was said eufa were investigating "the old firm". no they werent they were looking at rangers after the closed doors game in milan where some lets say unsavoury songs could be heard being sung by the small number of rangers fans in the stadium.

i think there actually was a quote going about by a eufa official bemused why the media kept asking him about celtic when we had nothing to do with it.
