I am afraid it just shows what a joke our league has become. Rangers, Celtic, da da da boring, boring.
Away wi them both, let them go bankrupt. Scotland will be better off without either of them.
The death of a catholic guy in Coleraine at the weekend sums up the Rangers nut jobs for me.
Go choke on ya Tango. |

Re: Operation Tango - Sunday 24/5
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, here is what I can share.....
Idea was born of a simple discussion, Helicopter Sunday. The recollection of the noise, the atmosphere, the emotion of what happened as those Motherwell goals were going in. We couldn't begin to imagine the same thing in reverse - to think about them feeling the way we did that day - unimaginable.....or was it ?
Maybe we could create this emotion - with a nice twist - Operation Tango was born.
How do we do it -
We wanted a concentrated 'surprise' effort, so no mass instruction on the open forum.
Original plan was to send 2 texts, 1 on 5 mins and 1 on 15 mins....
Each person involved had to have 2 Timmy mates at the game.
On 5 mins, the 1st person was to be sent the text,
On 15 mins the 2nd person was to be sent the text.
Anyway, to cut a long story short,
Concensus of opinion was that 5 mins was far far too early, people arriving late, people not settled into the game yet. There was also a thought that we may provide a positive effect for Celtic - ie spur them on when we were maybe on the back foot (and we didn't want that).
So with this in mind, we decided, lets do it in such a way as that if it spurns them on - it should make no difference....Rangers had to be in the lead for Tango to kick in.
News will reach the piggery naturally if we scored and went in front (massive massive low on their part), what better than to let them digest this low and let it fester for a little while before we sent our false high.
Decision was to send the texts no matter what to both Timmy1 and Timmy2, 15 mins after Rangers took any lead.
Text in itself was to be short and sweet:
Dundee Utd - Goal! (Weir sent off)
The resultant Timmy rabble we would like to think was down to the series of texts arriving at their destination - It was a bit like Russian Roulette, we all fire the gun, some will simply go click bit hopefully a few go BANG !
We will never know for sure, but if it wasn't us, something got them excited. I think we can live with the thought that it was maybe just us |

i know, a few texts to a few fans, timed correctly and bedlam is the result. it reminds me a wee bit of groupthink, you know, i believe no matter the facts to the contrary.
happy days. |

Pity it didnt work, and didnt happen.
I think the idea of people going to watch their team on the league finale, thinking about sending texts to mates at another ground is sad.
Kevin04's post set the tone for a rubbish thread and lino's bizarre follow (follow?) up is indicative of the mindset of many old firm fans.
The murder in Coleraine should have all old firm fans reviewing their behaviour, the human ones at least. |

it did work and did happen. it's all over the internet. those who planned it and those who fell for it.
can you explain why on the 20/21st minute of the highlights at parkheid the stadium aeropted in joy, celebrating, cheering, hugging, neil lennon going crazy in the dugout and the commentator wondering why the celtic fans are so happy as they have not scored and rangers are winning 1-0.
IT HAPPENED.
they fell for ot hook line and sinker.
the icing on the cake of a wonderful day.
best mass wind up i've ever seen.
you've been tango'ed |

Didnt notice it myself.
I did remember Lennon getting out to get the team going, a lot of fans getting behind him and maybe, just maybe, some others then thought that the response to lennon was some signal of something happening somewhere else.
If it did happen then I dont undertsand it, If I was a Rangers fan at Tannadice, winding up Celtic fans would be the last thing on my mind until my team had won.
Still, whatever amuses some people eh?
When was the claim made? After watching the highlights by any chance? |

it's just a bit of fun, football fans winding up other football fans at a very yense time. it worked really well. parkhead erupted like a goal had been scored, hugging, cheering, smiling. they fell for it.
not difficult to organise, 20/30 rangers fans text 1/2 of their celtic mates at the same time saying utd. have scored.
AT THE SAME TIME.
i celtic fan saying it will be ignored but 50/60 all over the ground saying the same thing at the same time.spreads like wildfire.
it may make the papers tomorow, certainly ona few sports news websites today.
it seems odd that you cannot accept the gullability of celtic fans.
THIS HAPPENED.
they'vebeen tangoed. |

"parkhead erupted like a goal had been scored, hugging, cheering, smiling. they fell for it."
No it didnt, a lot of fans reacted to Lennin trying to fire up the team, but there was nothing like an eruption and no-one I knew thought there had been a goal.
Why didnt it make Mondays papers, seems like people are making up a story after the event based on what they saw at the highlights on TV.
Weird behaviour for adult football fans.
I wasnt tangoed, I knew what lennon was doing, he does it often. As I said, some might have thought the reaction to lennon was news of a goal as the stadium was so flat. But no-one noticed this hoax at the time, or claimed it. |

kenny ramsay is a well known scottish sports photographer. i would draw you attention to the last 4 photographs in the celtic v hears gallery.that neil lennon certainly knows how to whip up a crowd.
i wonder why he's talking about celtic fans celebrating a goal?? i mean there was not a goal to be found at parkheid on sunday. |

You are just convincing me more that this didnt happen, you wouldnt need to look at 'evidence' of an interpretation of Tv highlights or a picture.
There may have been some fans at some point thought that there was a goal at tannadice, some of them might even have thought that the reaction to Lennon whipping up the players was evidence of a goal. But if this trick was real we would see clear real evidence.
When Lennon came out of his seat it was what was needed at the time, the game was flat, the players were losing the league, the crowd responded to Lennon's attitude.
There was no "eruption", even the Lennon incident inpsired a few people, not the whole crowd but it sounded louder as the crowd was as flat and uninspiring as the team were. |

You silly boy, Kevin.
The name 'hun' comes from Attila the Hun, a rather wild, semi-nomadic tribe of Asiatic origin who rampaged through much of Europe in the something-or-otherth century.
There is no connection between the huns and the followers of Glasgow Rangers FC.
Unless you count the Germans, who were referred to in the First World War as huns. Are fans of Rangers 'Germanic'?
Their love of the royal family certainly would lean towards that being the case, as the aforementioned royalty have Hannoverian (German) roots.
Other than that, there douesn't seem to be much logic (not that i expect much from OF fans!) in the claim made by members of the Feni tribe, whose origins lie in the impoverished bogs of Ireland and whose achievements in the history of the world amount to zilch. |
