I just loved how the usual two names on the credits became six - what a great touch!

You've obviously never watched the programme (for years, if ever) and are listening to some ridiculously wrong advice that Doctor Who is a kids' programme.  I would advise you to watch it first before you decide what kind of a programme it is.  And as a programme that commands 10million viewers week-on-week, the biggest audience share on any night, of any channel ... you may just have to change your mind significantly.

Or do you have a problem with Sci-fi?  The biggest blockbusters in the movies are the huge space films. If you think the fans have got it all wrong, you are in a minority.

Personally I can't wait for The Dark Knight to open on the 24th.  I love movies from comics and graphic novels.

Carol, BBC iPlayer is the easy-to-use service that lets you access television programmes via your PC. It offers seven-day catch-up television and now also incorporates radio 'listen again' and live streaming.

The TV programmes are free for UK licence fee payers, at high quality and with no advertising. Once you have downloaded a programme to your computer you have 30 days within which to start watching and seven days to finish watching it.

Easy-peasy. Even Baldrick managed to do it for his programme on CBeebies!

Actually the programmes are free to anyone in the UK regardless of whether or not they are a licence fee payer since the licence fee can only be demanded for watching programmes as they are being broadcast "live" or near simultaneously and there is no need to hold a licence to view BBC material online, so long as, it is not "live".

What BBC iPlayer actually is, aside from a blatant advertisment for all things prefixed with an "i", it's actually the precursor for the so-called "television licence" to be replaced with some form of broadband or internet licence so that people, like me, who have ditched broadcast television will be forced to pay for content we're scarcely aware of.

If they genuinely wanted a valid system then it is technologically possible for each licence holder to be issued with either a piece of hardware, or for some simple code to be introduced to the structure of BBC online so that it could be limited to individuals with appropriate security clearance ... such as online banking seem to manage.

Sarah-Jane can have the good Captain. I don't wish to spoil things for Carol, but I'd be busy with someone else: a pair beats a single Jack anyday. Wink
