Cultures mixing does not lead to war. People saying cultures should not mix leads to war. And 'culture', in a pseudo-clash of civilisations context, is a euphemism for 'race'. |
I don't quite see peaceful mixing of cultures. Sorry. They just don't and can not assimilate, and this causes problems as we have seen in France with the riots not too long ago.

On the contrary, hundreds of thousands of Muslims live peacefully and happily in France. Only a tiny minority were involved in the riots, which in any case were nothing to do with culture, but with unemployment, discrimination, and general social ennui.

Muslims do not live happily in France for they are discriminated against almost everywhere there. Furthermore, I think it would be fair to say that the rioters were supported by the majority of the muslims there. They had almost 3000 arrests... who knows how many thousands more participated. This is a good enough reason to say that there is a problem with these religions mixing. I mean yeah, it is not all of them, but it was still a significant enough amount that ended up causing some 200 million euros in damage. Not only that, but it spread to much of the country as 274 towns were affected. Now suppose that the percentage of these muslim migrants was several times higher... it could mean several times worse damage.
I think it's fair to say that cultures clearly do not mix. There are always wars with this, be it Yugoslavia, Lebanon, or elsewhere. Every culture should be contained to not spread elsewhere. |
