Well, if I don't believe in "the devil", I'd hardly believe in a "hell" now, would I?
And "down below"?? Just because the ancients mention the Underworld (Sheol, Hades, Hell, Annwn, etc) in their old stories, legends, myths and sagas, does not necessarily mean 'underground'. They are "otherworldly". Not on this plane of existence.
