Solidarity have every right to fight their campaign as they see fit within their resources, just as the SNP can. Once upon a time the SNP where a small party with only a small number of volunteers and a small party structure too. Don't let where the SNP are now cloud your memories of where they where. Certainly don't use it to belittle the likes of Solidarity at all. |
Who the hell do you think you're talking to?
Your position is illogical - as an SNP supporter, I can only comment on SNP matters?
Are you thick? |
Oh Amber, do you realise that by responding like that and crowning it all with the "Are you thick?" question that you end up making yourself look thick?
I've read through your dafts posts on this subject quietly for far too long. I'm not a member of the SNP or Solidarity or the SSP. I am a member of Plaid Cymru, however if I end up in Scotland at this moment in time it's the SNP who I'd support so I have no axe at all to grind against the SNP.
What you are doing is behaving like an arrogant fool wanting to attack a small party all you can. Look, the party the SNP need to be undermining in Glasgow East are Labour, not Solidarity. I'm sure Rinty would be happy to accept that Solidarity have next to no chance of taking Glasgow East. However, that doesn't mean that Solidarity should not fight that seat. As a Democratic Poltical Party they have every right to put their names forward and use their resources the best they can.
Red Justice has understood my point fine, and thankfully so have the SNP by the looks of things. The SNP where once upon a time a small party, ridiculed by the main Unionist Party, however people of priciple who believed in what they stood for carried on working, leading eventually to the SNP forming government in Scotland. It's the same here in Wales, I can remember myself, despite being on 25 now, people laughing at me for supporting Plaid Cymru saying we had no chance etc. Yet, it's us who are laughing now.
So Amber, by all means carry on supporting the SNP, but turn your efforts to supporting the SNP and undermining Labour and other Unionists Parties in Scotland, not pissing about, acting a dick while trying (baddly) to undermine a small Pro Indepencence Party.

Another example is the Labour party. I organise an annual "Keir Hardie Memorial Lecture' here in his hometown of Cumnock.
Back in the day there were many who opposed JKH and the founders of what became the Labour party, saying that they couldnt win seats and it was best for socialists to organise within the Liberals, who led what was then seen as the progressive politics in parliament.
As for Amber not seeing solidarity campaigners, it is a big ward and it means that only that amber didnt see them, not that they weren't there. I know where many of them were each day and, as some of the places are quite central to the area, it would have been difficult, but not impossible, to avoid them.
But it is clear that Amber sees Solidarity as her opposition in this campaign and that is why I simply dont believe that she is an SNP supporter, member or campaigner in any way. She should ask the members of the baillieston and rutherglen branches of the SNP, both of whom were talking to solidarity members that I know about on the day amber mentions.
I wont be involved in the campaign for at least another week, due to being swamped with work that I need to finish. But I know that our activists are out ther doing what they can and that bumping into amber is not our priority in this election.
BTW, this year's Keir Hardie lecture features Clare Short MP and Rev Jason Boyd as the speakers, chaired by yours truly, it will be held in septeer and I will let people here know details when we pin down an exact date that suits the speakers and the venues.

Is this Solidarity's secret weapon in the by-election campaign? _________________ "My instinct is to agree with your opinion of his verse, but I've never so much as glanced at it." - agentmancuso |
